“The coaching staff at NAFC does a fantastic job of creating an atmosphere of collegiality and competition with a balance of fun and team spirit. Our son loves his “fencing family”. As parents, we are delighted to see our son mature in his understanding that one can have both a competitive spirit and still be supportive of team and opponents alike. In addition, fencing has taught him focus, strategic thinking and discipline. NAFC is definitely a family oriented establishment with a mission to empower every fencer to do their best, on and off the strip.”

“Fencing has been a natural fit for our family. My 11 year old son has played other sports and enjoyed them, but fencing is his passion. It has given him an outlet for his competitive streak. His strength and conditioning from the weekly sessions are evident, as is the self-confidence he feels from being involved in a sport he enjoys so much.
Since fencing involves a lot of strategy, it challenges him on an intellectual level as well. The instruction and training is directed by coaches at NAFC who really care about each fencer’s development. The passion for the sport they have is evident and they pass that passion and commitment on to their fencers.
There is also a real sense of community at NAFC, with the experienced fencers teaching and encouraging the younger ones during practices and bouts. Recently our 7 year old daughter has also started fencing at NAFC. The other fencers are very supportive of her getting involved and she looks forward to seeing them every week. They always have a kind word and pointers for her.
Another big plus for us as a family is the flexibility that fencing affords us. We go to practice once a week and then pick other days when we can go for more during Open Strip times which are available at NAFC every night of the week. It’s nice to be at the center and have access to wi-fi to work on my laptop while the kids are getting in their practice and having fun as well!”

“Since he was 5 years-old, our son had talked about learning how to sword fight. Maybe it was those Star Wars or the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I don’t know where it came from but the interest was there. So, we started our search. We saw a few clubs, noting the size and location of the club, paying attention to the students’ attitudes, and the teaching methods of the instructors. However, we couldn’t find the right fit so we kept looking. Over the next six years, our son played other sports (baseball, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse) but he never let go of his desire to fence.
When we found the North Atlanta Fencing Center, we immediately noticed the positive “vibe” of the school. Not only were the students having fun in class, they were eager to learn and to demonstrate their hard earned knowledge. The Head Master was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaged the students through a variety of methods. His team of instructors was also eager to help out, keeping the students (young and old) engaged in the learning process and improving their skills. We liked what we saw, joined up, and our son has been having a great time ever since.
I’ll go ahead and say it. Look around. See what’s out there. Then come here. It’s my belief that you’ll be very impressed – by the facility, the students’ positive attitudes, and the instructors’ knowledgeable lessons.
